about a year ago. Removing yours and having it rebuilt will likely be the cheapest route. If you buy an already rebuilt one, you have to give them your old one or pay a core charge. If you don't have it done locally, then you will have to pay the shipping along with the cost of the alternator. Check out the replacement writeup in the FAQ > AutoFAQ section. It's a pretty easy job, especially if you've got long fingers.
